Updates for the Week Ending 5/31/15

Good morning! Sorry t’s been two weeks since I’ve posted an update, I thought the one I wrote last week had posted, but apparently it didn’t, so I’m going to take some time now to update you all on what I’ve been doing.

For my readers who don’t live in the States, last Monday, 5/24/15, was Memorial Day, a day that we dedicate to remembering people in the Armed Forces who died serving our country. My husband and I decided to spend that day visiting with my aunt Rita and uncle Bob, who live down in Florence, South Carolina, about 2 1/2 hours away from us. We had a great time visiting with them and talking with them, as we usually do. Other than that, I haven’t been doing any eBook writing or working on anything for my current eBooks, but I have been working on a few things that may end up turning into eBooks that I might offer on other platforms somewhere down the road.  For one thing, about a month ago I started the Les Mills Combat exercise program – I’ve been blogging about my progress with that on my blog on teambeachbody.com – here is a link to one of the posts I made if you want to check it out – let me know if you’re able to read it. I’m actually thinking of become a Beachbody coach, and if I do, I may end up writing an eBook about my experiences with different Beachbody programs, including Les Mills Combat.

As I  mentioned in my last post, I’ve also been having some problems at my full-time job, I’ve been getting audited a lot because I’m being told the pace of my calls is too fast. I’ve been working on trying to slow it down – I had a talk with one of my supervisors and her supervisor, and they’ve agreed to work with me for the next 30 days to help me try and bring the pace of my calls down to an acceptable speed. I’ve actually been trying to record myself occasionally practicing the scripts so I can compare the speeds, and I can definitely see a difference. I talked with one of my supervisors this past week, and she said she can see an improvement as well, although she said I do still have to bring my pace down a little more.  Once I get through all that I may write a blog post (or maybe a series of blog posts) on my Work at Home Tips blog about it.

I also have been working on my transcription side gig (which I hope someday isn’t a side gig – as much as I enjoy working at my full-time job, I don’t see myself making a career there unless an unbelievable opportunity comes my way.  I do however need to keep the lights on, so I’ll keep doing what I have to to keep the job for now).

Also, on a not-so-happy note, I found out  from my dad yesterday that my grandfather’s second wife passed away a few days ago from heart problems – his first wife, my paternal grandmother, died of cancer when I was 13.  My dad is going to go down to Florida in a few days to help my grandfather with funeral arrangements. I don’t think I’ll be able to go, but I do at least plan to send something to him. I did make him a sympathy card, which I mailed out this morning.

That’s it for now, I’ll post another update next week.  Hope everyone has a great week!
